-1: CrypKey is not initialized

When opening Guard1 Plus or Technical Support Application you receive the following error:

 

 

The error may be followed by -429 ActiveX component can't create object.

 

 

Cause

 

 

Resolution

Uninstall/reinstall Guard1 Plus.

 

If the error recurs:

  1. Verify that you are logged in to Windows with a Local Administrator account.
  2. Manually register the Guard1 Plus DLL files.
  3. Open My Computer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Guard1 Plus (XP) or C:\TimeKeeping Systems\Guard1 Plus (Vista).
  4. Double-click the file SETUPEX.EXE. (NOTE: you will see no activity other than a brief hourglass; this is normal).
  5. Close My Computer.
  6. Click Start > Run (XP) or click Start, then click in the Search box (Vista).
  7. Type Net Start "CrypKey License" then press Enter. NOTE: you will see no activity other than a brief Command Window; this is normal).
  8. Click Start > Run (XP) or click Start, then click in the Search box (Vista).
  9. Type Services.msc then press Enter.
  10. In the Services Console, verify that CrypKey License is listed and that the service status is Started.
  11. Close the Services Console.
  12. Open Guard1 Plus.
