Symptoms

When opening Guard1 Plus or Rounds Tracker you receive the following error:

 

 

 

A similar error occurs during the Database verification phase of the Data Maintenance Application:

 

 

 

Cause

 

 

Resolution

  1. Close all open windows.
  2. Open File Explorer and browse to C:\ProgramData\TimeKeeping Systems\Guard1 Plus.
  3. Delete the file named Tks.G1Plus.Dc.G1ServerInfo.
  4. Open the TKS Guard1Plus Service folder.
  5. Delete the files Tks.G1plus.Dc.G1pDbConfig and Tks.G1Plus.Dc.G1pRsConfig.
  6. On the Services tab in Task Manager, right-click the MSSQL$GUARD1PLUS service and select Stop.
  7. Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL##.GUARD1PLUS\MSSQL\Data.
  8. IMPORTANT: Copy the file Guard1Plus.mdf and paste it in a safe location such as Documents or Desktop.
  9. Uninstall Microsoft SQL Server via Programs and Features.
  10. In File Explorer, delete the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server.
  11. Run the Guard1 Plus Configuration Application by right-clicking its shortcut in the All Apps menu and selecting Run as administrator. Follow the prompts.
    • This will reinstall SQL Server Express and create a new Tks.G1Plus.Dc.G1ServerInfo file.
  12. The Data Maintenance Application will launch after clicking Finish in the Configuration Application.
  13. Enter your Guard1 Plus Supervisor credentials when prompted, then complete the Data Maintenance Application.
  14. On the Services tab in Task Manager, right-click the MSSQL$GUARD1PLUS service and select Stop.
  15. Copy the Guard1Plus.mdf file from Step 8 and paste it into C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL##.GUARD1PLUS\MSSQL\Data.  Select Yes when asked if you want to overwrite the existing file.
  16. On the Services tab in Task Manager, right-click the MSSQL$GUARD1PLUS service and select Start.
