-5: Database could not be opened

When opening Guard1 Plus you receive the following error:

Resolution

This error is typically caused by database corruption, which usually occurs when the database exceeds 50MB in size. Corrupt databases are not recoverable. To determine if the database is causing the error:

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Guard1 Plus (or C:\TimeKeeping Systems\Guard1 Plus if Windows Vista or 7).
  3. Right-click the file G1Master.g1p and select Cut. NOTE: depending on your Windows View settings, you may not be able to see the .g1p file extension. Right-click the G1Master file with the large blue "1" icon.
  4. Paste the file to My Documents or some other folder.
  5. Open Guard1 Plus:
    • If it opens without error, your database is corrupt. You will have to restore from a Backup file.
    • If the error recurs, please contact Technical Support.
