When attempting to mount a .G1P file as an Archive or to Restore a .G1P file from any PC other than the SQL Server, you receive the following error:





When mounting a .G1P file as an Archive or restoring a .G1P file, temporary files are created to facilitate the conversion. These files are expected to be on the SQL Server's local C: drive.


This issue was resolved in Guard1 Plus SE version 5.2.




Upgrade to Guard1 Plus SE version 5.2.


If unable to upgrade, you must install the SE Clients component on the SQL Server and run the Data Maintenance Application to mount or restore the .G1P file(s). After the operation is complete you may uninstall the SE Clients component.


  1. Browse to the Guard1 Plus SE 5.x media.
  2. To install the Guard1 Plus SEClient, open the G1PClientSetup.exe file.
  3. Choose the language and click OK.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Choose the "I accept the terms in the license agreement" and click Next
  6. Click Install.
  7. Click Finish and the Configuration Wizard should launch.
  8. From the Guard1 Plus Configuration Wizard, click Start.
  9. Select "Create configuration" and click Next.
  10. At the Product Activation, click Next.
  11. Select Client and click Next.
  12. Click Exit to close the installer.
  13. Now that the SE Client is installed on the SQL Server, you will be able to mount the archive file without errors.
  14. After all the archives are mounted, you may uninstall the SE Client.
