<DateTimeStamp> Downloader Notify failed: The remote server returned an unexpected response: (400) Bad Request

The IP Downloader Home Page shows the following error in the Last Error field:



Additionally, download data from the IP Downloader is not received by the IP Attendant PC, and the System LED on the IP Downloader is red.



The IP Downloader and IP Attendant passphrases do not match.



Verify that the passphrase for the IP Downloader matches the passphrase for the target IP Attendant.


For IP Downloader:

  1. Connect the power supply to the IP Downloader.
  2. Connect the Ethernet cable from the IP Downloader to the network port.
  3. Wait two minutes and confirm that the Network and the System LEDs are lit.
  4. On a computer connected to the network, open a Web Browser window.
  5. Enter the IP Downloader's Home Page address in the browser Address Bar, then press Enter. (e.g. http://tks0022233a0028).
  6. On the IP Downloader Home Page, click Manage Downloader.
  7. Enter the password, then click Log in. The default password is "password".
  8. In the Server Passphrase section, enter and verify the passphrase.
    • To use the factory default passphrase, clear the contents of these fields.
    • IMPORTANT: The passphrase must match the passphrase used by the IP Attendant.
  9. Click Set Passphrase.
  10. Check the System LED on the IP Downloader.  
    • If it turns green, the passphrases match and the IP Downloader has successfully connected to the IP Attendant. No further action is necessary.
    • If it remains red, continue to the next section.


For IP Attendant:

  1. On the IP Attendant PC, click Start > Programs > Guard1 Plus > IP Attendant Wizard.
  2. Click Start the Configuration Wizard.
    • Select Default if:
      1. You set the factory default passphrase on the IP Downloader in Step 8 above.
    • Select Custom if:
      1. You set a non-default passphrase on the IP Downloader in Step 8 above.
  3. Click Next.
    • If you selected Custom in Step 2:
      1. Choose a passphrase:
        • Choose Set to Factory Default if you set the factory default passphrase on the IP Downloader in Step 8 above.
        • Choose Enter the Passphrase if you set a non-default passphrase on the IP Downloader, then enter and confirm the passphrase.
      2. Click Next.
      3. Choose your desired Download Logging and Launch Attendant when machine starts settings.
      4. Click Next.
      5. Specify a port number if desired.  Otherwise, choose Use Existing Port Number: 50150. NOTE: The IP Downloader MUST use the same Port Number!
      6. Click Next.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. Click Exit.
  7. Check the System LED on the IP Downloader.  It should now be green, indicating a successful connection.
