Symptoms

When running G1DBSetup wizard

-or-

When configuring databases via G1Cfg command argument

You receive the following error:

The error may be preceded/followed by Invalid column names (DataSourceID and UserRightsID).

Cause

The SQL Server collation setting for the Guard1 Plus SE databases is not set correctly. The collation setting must be case-insensitive.

The recommended collation setting is the default SQL collation setting:

Resolution

Set the collation method for the Guard1 Plus SE Application and Configuration databases to SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI-AS.

NOTE: it is strongly recommended that you set your SQL Server default collation method to the one shown above so that new databases inherit this method by default.  If your SQL Server default collation method is different than the Guard1 Plus Application database collation method, any Archive databases that you create using the Data Maintenance Wizard will inherit the default collation method from SQL. This will cause the error to occur when you attempt to view your Archive data.
