Resolution

Verify that your Windows User Account has the following minimum required permissions:

Verify that the database file is not set to Read-only:

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Guard1 Plus (or C:\TimeKeeping Systems\Guard1 Plus if Windows Vista or 7).
  3. Right-click the file G1Master.g1p and select Properties. NOTE: depending on your Windows View settings, you may not be able to see the .g1p file extension. Right-click the G1Master file with the large blue "1" icon.
  4. Click the General tab.
  5. Clear the Read-only checkbox if necessary.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Open Guard1 Plus.  If the error recurs, continue to the next section.

This error is typically caused by database corruption, which usually occurs when the database exceeds 50MB in size. Corrupt databases are not recoverable. To determine if the database is causing the error:

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Guard1 Plus (or C:\TimeKeeping Systems\Guard1 Plus if Windows Vista or 7).
  3. Right-click the file G1Master.g1p and select Cut. NOTE: depending on your Windows View settings, you may not be able to see the .g1p file extension. Right-click the G1Master file with the large blue "1" icon.
  4. Paste the file to My Documents or some other folder.
  5. Open Guard1 Plus:
