In certain circumstances it may be desirable to delete the Guard1 Plus SE Application database:

Resolution

WARNING: The procedure below will delete your Guard1 Plus SE Application database. Verify that you do not need the information (Buttons, Downloads, Facilities) in the database before continuing.

  1. Close all Guard1 Plus SE Clients, Rounds Tracker Clients and Attendants.
  2. Use SQL Enterprise Manager/Management Studio to delete the application database 'Guard1Plus'. IMPORTANT: you should back up the database if there is any chance the data it contains will be needed in the future. NOTE: the suggested name for the database is 'Guard1Plus'; you may have chosen a different name.
  3. Create a new database named 'Guard1Plus'.
  4. Re-add the Guard1 Plus SE SQL User (usually 'Guard') to the new Application database and assign this user the db_Owner database role.
  5. On a PC where the Guard1 Plus SE Local Client is installed, go to the command prompt and navigate to the Guard1 Plus SE Server share. NOTE: if you are not working on the same PC where the shared folder resides, you will have to map the folder to a local drive, then navigate to the mapped drive at the command prompt.
  6. Initialize the new application database by typing G1Cfg 202;Supervisor User;Supervisor Password;Data Source Name, then pressing Enter.
    • Where:
      • Supervisor User = an application User that has Supervisor rights
      • Supervisor Password = the password for the above Supervisor user
      • Data Source Name = the name of the new Application database you created in Step 3
  7. Click Yes, then OK.
  8. Type G1Cfg 401;Supervisor User;Supervisor Password;Data Source Name, then press Enter.
    • Where:
      • Supervisor User = an application User that has Supervisor rights
      • Supervisor Password = the password for the above Supervisor user
      • Data Source Name = the name of the new Application database you created in Step 3
  9. Click Yes, then OK.
  10. Close the Command Window.

The Guard1 Plus SE Client should now open normally, and there should be no Buttons, Downloads or Facilities in the database.
