Summary

You want to move your Guard1 Plus SE databases and Guard1 Plus SE Server installation to a new SQL Server.

If you have Guard1 Plus SE Server installed on a file server instead of on your SQL Server, refer to Moving Guard1 Plus SE Server to a new file server.

Because Guard1 Plus SE uses the SQL Server name for licensing and access control, there are two procedures - one for moving the databases and Server to a new SQL Server with the same name as the original SQL Server, and one for moving the databases and Server to a new SQL Server with a different name than the original. Choose the applicable procedure for your environment.

The suggested name for the Guard1 Plus SE Application database is "Guard1Plus"; the suggested name for the Configuration database is "Guard1PlusConfig". Your database names may differ.

IMPORTANT: If you are migrating from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005, make sure the new databases you create on the SQL 2005 server are set to Compatibility Level “SQL Server 2000 (80)”.
