Guard1 Plus 2.80 installs to wrong drive

After installing Guard1 Plus version 2.80 you discover that the program installed to a folder other than C:\TimeKeeping Systems\Guard1 Plus.


This issue occurs on PCs with more than one internal hard drive, an external hard drive, or a primary drive partition.



This is a known issue with Guard1 Plus version 2.80 caused by a setting in Windows Installer. Windows Installer chooses the local drive or partition with the most free space for the installation.



This issue was resolved in Guard1 Plus version 2.81. Contact Technical Support to determine your eligibility to upgrade to version 2.81.


There is no workaround if your PC has a second internal hard drive or any partition with more free space than drive C: - Guard1 Plus will install to the drive/partition with the most free space.


If Guard1 Plus has installed to an external or removable hard drive, and you have no other local drives/partitions with more free space than drive C:, follow the procedure below:

  1. Uninstall Guard1 Plus.
  2. Restart the PC.
  3. Disconnect your external/removable hard drive from the PC.
  4. Insert your Guard1 Plus CD and reinstall the software. It should install to C:\TimeKeeping Systems\Guard1 Plus.
