Tracking Gateway

Guard1 Tracking Gateways are installed in each zone of your facility that you need to monitor. They receive the signals from Beacon Tags and ID Badges worn or carried by offenders, or attached to equipment. Guard1 software uses this information to give you the current location of the people and things in your facility.

Guard1 uses a proprietary RF technology specially designed to work with the difficult environment in a correctional facility - like cement and steel - and to enable long lasting tags that can run for several years on one battery.

WiFi has a number of concerns in corrections. Most importantly, it requires much more power, and WiFi tags would require frequent recharging. Also, like Bluetooth, WiFi is not secure and WiFi data can be seen by anyone with the proper software, even on a contraband cellphone.

Yes. We offer rugged watertight enclosures for outdoor use, or for indoor locations where they could be subject to abuse.

Guard1 Tracking Gateways are Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices and take their power from the Ethernet cable. There is no need to run separate wiring for power. Commissioning Tracking Gateways can use PoE or the supplied AC adapter.

Each Tracking Gateway requires CAT 5 cable or higher. Your Guard1 Sales Engineer will work with you or your contractor to plan your Receiver locations and cabling requirements.

Facilities typically handle the cable installation directly or through a construction or communications contractor.

Guard1 Tracking Gateways carry a one year warranty.
